The Easter Holidays Have Arrived

The Easter Holidays Have Arrived

Here are a few fun Easter craft ideas and an Easter recipe to keep the kids busy during the school holidays.

🐣 No-Bake Easter Nests

Simple and perfect for little hands to help with

Ingredients

  • 200g milk or dark chocolate
  • 100g cornflakes (or shredded wheat, lightly crushed)
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • A handful of mini chocolate eggs

Method

  1. Melt the chocolate
Break the chocolate into pieces and melt gently in a bowl over simmering water (or in short bursts in the microwave, stirring in between).
  2. Stir it all together
Add the golden syrup and mix well. Tip in the cereal and gently stir until everything is coated.
  3. Shape your nests
Spoon the mixture into cupcake cases, pressing lightly in the centre to create a little “nest” shape.
  4. Add the eggs
Place 2–3 mini eggs on top of each nest.
  5. Let them set
Pop in the fridge for around 1 hour, or until firm.

🐰 Make Your Own Bunny Ears

Using bits and pieces you already have at home

You’ll need

  • Scrap fabric, paper, or old cardboard
  • A strip of card (to fit around your child’s head)
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape
  • Crayons, paints, or pencils (optional)

How to make them

  1. Create the headband
Cut a long strip of card and wrap it gently around your child’s head to size. Secure with tape or glue.
  2. Cut out your ears
Draw two long bunny ears onto your fabric or card and cut them out. They don’t need to be perfect—that’s part of the charm.
  3. Add some colour
Let little ones decorate their ears with crayons or paint, or layer different fabrics for texture.
  4. Attach the ears
Fix the ears to the inside of the headband using tape or glue. Hold for a moment until secure.
  5. Ready to play
Once dry, they’re ready for dressing up, garden adventures, or an Easter egg hunt.

🌿 Pressed Flower Easter Cards

A fun and creative craft using little finds from outside

You’ll need

  • A few small flowers or leaves (daisies, buttercups, ferns)
  • Heavy books
  • Plain or tracing paper
  • Glue
  • Pens or pencils

How to make them

  1. Collect your flowers
Head outside and gather a few small blooms or leaves. A mix of shapes works best.
  2. Press and wait
Place them between sheets of paper inside a heavy book. Leave for a few days until flat and dry.
  3. Arrange your design
Once ready, gently place the pressed flowers onto your card to create a simple pattern or scene.
  4. Glue in place
Carefully stick them down—less glue is more here.
  5. Add a message
Write a small Easter note inside or leave blank to gift later.
